This agreement establishes a framework for cooperation designed to improve access to quality vocational training, strengthen the capacities of trainers and public institutions, and support the construction and rehabilitation of vocational training centers. The shared objective is to enable learners—particularly young people—to acquire practical skills that promote employability, self-reliance, and socio‑professional integration.
As part of this partnership, both parties will work together to identify local skills needs, develop appropriate training programs, and implement pilot projects that contribute to lifelong learning. This collaboration is part of a shared vision to strengthen human capital and sustainably improve community well-being.
The MOU was signed by His Excellency Maître Marc Ekila Likombo, Minister of State and Minister of Vocational Training, and by Elder David Ngabizele, Area Seventy, who represented The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, in the presence of members of the Minister’s cabinet, Mr. Elie Twikala, Public Relations Officer of the Church for the Central Africa Area, and Mr. Bapont Ngalamulume, Director of Communications. This initiative reflects the Church’s continued commitment to working with public authorities to support education, self-reliance, and social progress.

Both institutions expressed their willingness to work closely together to promote the availability of a skilled workforce that meets current labor market demands, while contributing to social inclusion and the well-being of the population, particularly the unemployed.
On this occasion, Minister Maître Ekila Likombo, paying tribute to God before signing the agreement, stated that this collaboration was brought about by God, who brought the two institutions together. For his part, Elder Ngabizele reaffirmed the Church’s commitment to formalizing and sustaining its actions alongside the government, particularly in the health and education sectors, through the rehabilitation of health infrastructure, the renovation of several schools, and the provision of boreholes for safe drinking water for the benefit of local communities.
Present in the Democratic Republic of the Congo for more than 40 years, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, through its humanitarian department, assists communities affected by disasters and other vulnerable situations, working closely with community authorities.
