His Excellency Mohamed Siad Doualeh, the Ambassador of Djibouti to the United States and Permanent Representative of Djibouti to the United Nations, recently visited The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Headquarters in Utah on Thursday, February 20, 2025. The purpose of the Ambassador’s visit was to provide an understanding of the Church’s humanitarian and education efforts on the African continent.

During his visit, Ambassador Doualeh toured Welfare Square, where he learned how "sacred funds" are gathered and utilized to assist those in need. Impressed by the efficiency of the program, he remarked on the significant number of refugees from Yemen and Somalia currently in Djibouti. "We need a program like this to help our refugees in Djibouti," he said.

The Ambassador also met with members of the Church’s Self-Reliance and Humanitarian department, which resulted in a warm friendship that was developed, with hopes for future collaborations between Djibouti and the Church.
