After interviews, 87 people were found worthy and were baptized, then confirmed as members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Among these new members, more than 35 came from the locality of Tshinsenda Gar, illustrating the continued expansion of the Church beyond the city of Kasumbalesa.
On this occasion, Stake President Alain Banza delivered a message of exhortation and congratulations to the new members as well as to all the faithful. He drew upon Luke 7:29–30, emphasizing that the newly baptized did not nullify the purposes of God as the Pharisees once did, but that by accepting baptism, they have chosen to open the way back to our heavenly home. He encouraged the new members to remain faithful to their covenants and to persevere in the faith. Finally, President Alain Banza exhorted the members to center their lives on Christ and to focus on serving others (Mosiah 2:2).
Such baptisms are the fruits and miracles accomplished thanks to the determination of the members, motivated by their leaders to participate in the work of salvation and exaltation. These members work tirelessly, introducing their friends to the full-time missionaries who then teach them. In this way, the work advances immeasurably in the Stake of Zion in Kasumbalesa.
The activity took place in a spirit of reverence, joy, and gratitude, strengthening the faith of the members and opening a new spiritual chapter for the new converts.
In the same spirit, the presidency of the Mwene-Ditu Stake, through its returning and local missionaries, was able to conduct a baptismal service in the Kabuela area where ninety-seven (97) souls accepted their conversion to Jesus Christ.
