The festival serves as a time for the Anlo people to express gratitude for a bountiful harvest, strengthen community bonds, and celebrate their cultural heritage. In accord with those cultural ideals, and in response to the Church for its contribution, Chief Nene Nartey Ahujaga Asafo-Adjei (III) Ayikuma Matse, who is Presbyterian, expressed his sincere gratitude and assured unity and development amongst the diverse faith in the Ayikuma area.

President Theopilus Laweh-Amponsah, branch president of the Ayikuma Branch, received and responded to the request from the Ayikuma Chief Palace to participate with donations, and was formally invited to attend a durbar (traditional ceremonial gathering) as well as a one-hour thanksgiving service at the Ayikuma football ground on Sunday, October 6, 2024. The Chief recommended that Church leadership formally visit him and the land's Elders to establish more open lines of communication.
