In anticipation of the upcoming Ayikuma Ngmayem Festival, local leaders of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints visited the Ayikuma Chief Palace in the Volta Region of Ghana on September 6, 2024 to make a donation of soft drinks, water, and money. The Festival, which takes place from September 30 to October 7, 2024, is a significant cultural and traditional event and will emphasize the theme of fostering community engagement, unity, and development.
The festival serves as a time for the Anlo people to express gratitude for a bountiful harvest, strengthen community bonds, and celebrate their cultural heritage. In accord with those cultural ideals, and in response to the Church for its contribution, Chief Nene Nartey Ahujaga Asafo-Adjei (III) Ayikuma Matse, who is Presbyterian, expressed his sincere gratitude and assured unity and development amongst the diverse faith in the Ayikuma area.
