On Friday, May 8, the Minister of Professional Training of the Democratic Republic of Congo, His Excellency Marc Ekila Likombo, conducted an official visit to the construction site of the vocational training center located at Camp Ex-Mobutu in Kinshasa. This visit marks a significant milestone in the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed between the Government of the Democratic Republic of the Congo and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints aimed at promoting skills development and strengthening vocational training nationwide.

As the first infrastructure project directly initiated under the MOU framework, the vocational training center represents a concrete step forward in the shared commitment to strengthen technical education and improve youth employability across the country. During the visit, the Minister reviewed the progress of the construction works and expressed satisfaction with the advancement, emphasizing the project’s strategic importance in equipping young people with practical skills aligned with national development priorities.

The Government reiterated its commitment to supporting initiatives that promote capacity building and sustainable development, highlighting the value of partnerships with faith-based organizations in delivering impactful social programs. This initiative demonstrates how collaboration between public institutions and the Church can effectively respond to critical needs in education and workforce development.
