Congolese Government Donates to Support a Project of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the DRC.

Through these collaborative efforts, many children in the DRC are receiving vital support to overcome malnutrition and regain better health.

On October 30th, 2024, in Kinshasa, the Democratic Republic of Congo, the Congolese government, through the National Nutrition Program (PRONANUT), donated two hundred boxes of Plumpy Nut therapeutic foods to the malnutrition screening project run by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Each box contained 150 packets to be distributed to malnourished children. This donation followed a screening campaign conducted in July 2024 in the Kimbanseke Stake by the humanitarian services of the Church.

Through this collaboration between PRONANUT and the Church Welfare and Self-Reliance Manager, twenty-two screened children were immediately taken care of, receiving packets of Plumpy Nut and vials of Amoxicillin. This initiative demonstrates the commitment of both the Church and the Congolese government, through PRONANUT, to fight child malnutrition and improve the health of vulnerable children.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is intensifying its efforts to help women and children under the age of five worldwide, particularly in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The Church is dedicated to screening and treating malnourished children in collaboration with local and international organizations.

The Government acknowledges that the Church's involvement in these programs reflects its mission to serve and support communities in need, with a focus on the health and well-being of children. Through these collaborative efforts, many children in the DRC are receiving vital support to overcome malnutrition and regain better health.
