Sister Cook shared personal experiences, teaching that progress in life and preparation for eternal families require faith, wise planning, and trust in the Lord rather than waiting for perfect circumstances.
Elder Cook encouraged YSA leaders to strengthen unity, reach out intentionally to those who are less active, and create meaningful opportunities for gathering and ministering. He reminded them that their leadership plays a crucial role in preparing young adults for future responsibilities in the Church.
Drawing from the account of Joshua and Caleb, Elder Cook invited leaders to move forward with courage and faith, trusting the Lord’s promises even when challenges appear great.
Elder Cook also met with Brother Joseph Obwona, a former branch president who now serves as the Director of Interpol & International Relations of Uganda, in Brother Obwona’s office. Their conversation was deeply spiritual as Brother Obwona shared his journey of discipleship, With emotion he testified, “I have not forgotten God, and God has not forgotten me.” Elder and Sister Cook expressed admiration for his integrity and faith, affirming that the Lord remembers the sacrifices and continues to guide those who serve Him both in the Church and in positions of national responsibility.
After that visit Elder Cook also met with fulltime sister missionaries for a proselyting experience.
Throughout the visit Elder and Sister Cook ministered with warmth and testimony, affirming that Jesus Christ leads His Church and is aware of His children in Uganda.
Their visit strengthened leaders, encouraged missionaries, guided YSA leaders, and testified of a bright future for the Church in Uganda as members move forward with faith, unity, and trust in the Lord.
