“Light the World is not only about preaching the gospel, but it is about impacting lives through education for the needy and about giving what is necessary to the community,” said Mr. Roland Tiabe, director of the Foundation of Knowledge Primary School in Bonaberi 5th District, Douala, Cameroon.
On Friday December 1, 2023, Brother Elie Grégoire, representing the president of the Douala District of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, led the service project. Elder and Sister Miester, young full-time missionaries, and members of the church also brightened the lives of around thirty children by paying for their tuition fees and supplies, and by giving the school a fresh coat of paint as part of the Church’s Light the World program.
This school accepts school-age children from areas suffering from separatist violence in the north-west and south-west regions of Cameroon. Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints do their best to show love to their neighbors, especially during the Christmas season.
