The Nairobi South Stake Choir performed How Great the Wisdom and the Love, which was followed by the colorfully dressed Nisse Hands of Hope Kenya Kids’ Choir singing Nothing but the Blood of Jesus.   Violinist Gibson Gatheru then played a violin solo of 10,000 Reasons – Bless the Lord. He Sent His Son was sung by the Nairobi West Stake Choir.  The always timely at Easter Halleluia Chorus by Handel was next by the Seniors Choir.  Nitaimba Sifa Zako and Mfalme Mwema were performed in Swahili by the Inter-Religious Council of Kenya Choir.

Surrounding all the musical numbers were scriptural readings from the New Testament regarding the resurrection of Jesus Christ, testimonies, a reading of The Living Christ written by the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and read by Nairobi South Stake President Frederick Shamola. Elder Johnny Baddo, Area Seventy, shared his testimony of and devotion to Jesus Christ at the close of the beautiful Easter celebration Interfaith concert.  He reminded the audience that the song of the righteous is a prayer unto heaven.  “At Easter, Christians remember the sacrifice of the Savior and how through Him we can be reconciled to the Father,” remarked Elder Baddoo.

The Interfaith Easter Concert was a time of beautiful, worshipful music, enjoyed by all who attended.  When believers come together for such a beautiful reflection of Jesus Christ and His resurrection the feelings of fellowship are strong.  Concert performers and attenders lingered after to visit and share gratitude and joy.
