The newly formed Nairobi Mormon Voices, a choir from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, joined choirs from other faiths on the 30th of November 2013 to do recordings for Christmas Carols. These recordings were aired on Citizen TV on the 25th and 26th of December 2013. The other choirs included the Salvation Army Choir and the country’s renowned Kenya Boys Choir. Since formation, the Nairobi Mormon Voices Choir has performed at two other public venues. Here is a photo essay of their performances.

Since 1847, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has embraced inspirational music as evidenced in their most famous musical institution: The Mormon Tabernacle Choir. Named after the Salt Lake Tabernacle on Temple Square in Salt Lake City, Utah, the 300+ member choir is world-famous. The choir performs at least weekly at the Tabernacle in Salt Lake City, Utah for a radio program called "Music and the Spoken Word" which is the longest-running national radio program in the US. The Mormon Tabernacle choir has released innumerable albums since it first recorded in 1910. The Nairobi Mormon Voices Choir hopes to someday be Africa's version of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.
