This Christmas season, the Church has encouraged each of us to: “Experience more of Jesus Christ’s light in your life… through Light the World, a global movement to love and serve as the Savior did in celebration of His birth.”

As part of this effort, on November 30, 2025, the Church released videos of the retelling of the nativity story from Luke, chapter 2.

For the first time, the Church is utilizing local versions of the video production, including videos from Africa, the Philippines, Latin America, and Brazil.  These videos have been launched around the world and highlighted on the Church’s main social channels, demonstrating how people from all over the globe are lighting the world this Christmas season.

In Nairobi, Kenya this effort began back in August of 2025, as the area communication team received the invitation to participate in this historic undertaking.  Benson Arudo, Central Africa Area Production Manager, went to work with planning and preparations.  A storyboard was created, a production team selected, a location was found, a cast chosen, shooting went forward, and production took place, resulting in a beautiful Christmas video with special meaning to the people of Africa.

Following the launch of the video Brother Arudo expressed his feelings about this project stating, “Participating in this production was truly a blessing, and working with the children to portray the nativity was truly inspiring. I am thankful for the combined efforts and talents that brought this vision to life.”
