On February 26, 2025, Elder Alfred Kyungu, President of the Africa West Area and General Authority of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, met with government officials in Togo.
Elder Kyungu testified of the Church's purpose and mission. He also spoke about the humanitarian and social efforts of the Church in Togo. He quoted the 11th Article of Faith which states “We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may.”

All rights reserved.In her remarks, Professor Akossiwa Zinsou-Klassou, Minister of Social Welfare, Solidarity and Women's Development, said, "The way you worship your God, or our God, is the best.” She also presented the four main target areas of her Ministry, namely social welfare, child protection, gender and women's development and literacy.
Koamy Gbloekpo Gomado, Minister of Spatial planning and Development, commented on the Church's achievements and projects. “People don't see the spiritual and humanitarian side of life,” he said.

Discussions with the two Togolese government officials focused generally on a possible collaboration between the government of Togo and The Church of Jesus Christ.
During the General Authority's visit to Lomé, the delegation also met with the Director of Religious Affairs at the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Local Government, Lieutenant Colonel Bédiani Belei.
