Sisters of Kabusanga Stake in DR Congo Celebrate Relief Society Anniversary

“Charity never faileth”

Millions of sisters of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints gathered around the world in March 2024 to mark the 182nd anniversary of the founding of Relief Society, one of the oldest and largest service organizations in the world.

More than 300 sisters from the Kabusanga Stake Relief Society of The Church of Jesus Christ participated in this celebration on Saturday, March 23, 2024. In addition, 51 non-members were invited to this activity. The Kabusanga Stake is located near Luputa, Democratic Republic of the Congo.

The Relief Society’ motto is “charity never faileth” (1 Corinthians 13:8).

On the occasion of this month, several Relief Society sisters saw fit to visit and minister to a senior couple worn by the years, brother Tshilombo Nshambuyi and sister Binene Mwambuyi. They demonstrated charity to this Latter-day Saint couple whose husband has become unable to walk, hard of hearing, and blurred vision, and to his wife who walks with difficulty.

The March 23 celebration was marked by prayer, singing, speeches, and service. One speaker said the gospel promises the strength and hope of the resurrection of the dead and the joy of life with the Lord Jesus Christ.
