The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints donated medical equipment and refurbished buildings to the Integrated Health Centre (IHC) of Kinsoundi, in Brazzaville, Republic of the Congo on February 8, 2023. The aim was to bring relief to the Kinsoundi IHC staff and to the community of the Makélékélé district.
The following government officials and hospital administrators were present to receive the donation:
- Mr. Léon MASSAMBA, head of district 108, representing the Mayor of Makélékélé
- Dr. René MALELA, representing the Departmental Director of Health
- Dr. Lyptia BASSISSILA, Chief Medical Officer of the Makélékélé Health District
- Mrs. Christel Épiphanie Mabiala, head of the Kinsoundi health center
- LOCKO MAKELA, president of the health committee of the Kinsoundi district
The Church was represented at the handover ceremony by Elder Charden Ndinga, Africa Central Area Seventy, and President Jean Cyr Mayala of the Makélékélé Stake.
Elder Ndinga explained that the money raised to carry out this project was donated by Church members.
