The Takoradi Ghana Stake Center of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was the host of this years Eid Mubarak Festival after the month of Ramadan which was held on Saturday 22nd April, 2023. The Church was made aware that the Muslims in the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis did not have access to a facility large enough to accommodate the gathering of celebrants expected at the festival. The Presidency of the Takoradi Ghana Stake offered the grounds of the Stake Center for the important celebration, an offer gratefully accepted by the Muslim Leaders.

During the festival over 1000 Muslim worshippers were led in prayers by Chief Imam Alhaji Umar Sabutey. He prayed for peace and prosperity for all in the nation and expressed his appreciation to the church for making the Stake Center facilities available to the Muslim celebrants.
Also attending the festival was the Regional Minister and Member of Parliament for Takoradi, Honorable Kwabena Okyere Darko Mensah, who was accompanied by the Municipal Chief Executive of the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis, Honarable Abdul Mumim Issah. Minister Mensah noted the close bond between the Muslims and their Christian neighbors represented by this historic gathering. He also said that Ghana is the winner when there is peace among all Ghanaians.
The National Communication Director of the Church, Brother Emmanuel Botwe, was on hand to welcome the worshippers to the church on behalf of the Takoradi Ghana Stake president Justice Odro Mensah. "This is the culmination of many years of working with our Muslim friends," said Brother Botwe. "We attend each others meetings, our youth groups work together, and we partner together for the betterment of our community. When they needed us for the festival, we were there."
Among the worshippers were several Muslim leaders as well as Chiefs from various local tribes. There are 6 million Muslims in Ghana representing 20% of the population. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints extends warm Eid greeting to all of our Muslim friends throughout the world.
