The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints launches a Gathering Place for Young Single Adults in Mbuji-Mayi in the Democratic Republic of Congo

“Healthy Activities in a Holy Place”

On Monday, May 6, 2024, faithful saints and their friends from the Mbuji-Mayi and Dibindi stakes gathered to attend the launch of the gathering place for the Young Single Adults in the town of Mbuji-Mayi, Kasai-oriental province, in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The center will house several programs intended to prepare Young Single Adults to grow both spiritually  and temporally.

Alin Mukadi President of the Dibindi Stake who presided over this ceremony said: "This gathering place for Young Single Adults is a program inspired by God, ... An opportunity for Young adults to organize wholesome activities in a holy place and gain experiences that will bring them closer to one another and to Christ. ”

The center will give young members and non-members of the Church the opportunity to participate in several activities that will be organized there, such as Institute of Religion, Self-Reliance courses, sports activities, recreational activities, English courses, access to computers and so forth. A steering committee for the center, made up of young people from the two stakes, was formed and will be responsible for managing the center while ensuring that it fulfills the purpose of its creation. All those who participate in the center's programs will sign a code of conduct, which entails upholding the standards of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
