The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Unveils New Group in Ethiopia's Burayu

A New Congregation Is Established in Ethiopia

In a momentous occasion for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Ethiopia, a new Group has been created in Burayu, marking a significant step in the spiritual landscape of the country. President Oliva Cowley, Ethiopia Addis Ababa Mission President, shared his profound insights at the creation of the Group, declaring, "We know that as we all continue to serve the Lord and follow the Holy Spirit, miracles will continue to happen. Jesus Christ is leading His work!"

A Group in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is an organizational subdivision of the church.  Larger congregations are designated as Wards, smaller congregations are chartered as Branches.  Groups are created when the number of church membes is too small to organize a Branch or Ward.   A Group is led by a Group Leader.  The Group Leader is typically called by a Mission President.  Group Leaders do not hold Priesthood Keys, but, operating under the Priesthood keys of the Mission President.  A Group is authorized to worship together, administer and partake of the Sacrament, organize ministering visitors, and organize auxiliaries  and other church strucures.  Burayu is a community located outside of Addis Ababba.
