On Wednesday, November 13, 2024, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints reinforced its dedication to community partnership by donating essential office equipment to the Abura Police District in Ghana. The donation included two desktop computers with accessories, a 3-in-1 printer, copier, and scanner, an HP toner, and two air conditioners.
Speaking at the presentation ceremony, President Christopher L. Morgan, President of the Cape Coast Mission, expressed the Church’s gratitude for the police’s tireless efforts to ensure safety and security. “We want to begin by thanking you for everything you do. We sincerely appreciate your role in taking good care of us,” he said.

We do this by following His commandments: to love God and love our neighbours. These items come from contributions by Church members worldwide, who pay 10% of their increase as tithes to support charitable initiatives globally,” he explained.
President Samuel F. Laing, President of Abura Ghana Stake, echoed these sentiments and pledged the Church’s continued support as law-abiding citizens. “One of our cardinal principles is sustaining the laws of the land. We are grateful for the assistance the police provide to our churches, missionaries, and mission offices. Whenever we are in a position to help, we will willingly offer support,” he stated.

Superintendent Wisdom Diaba, the district police commander, accepted the donation on behalf of the regional police commander, expressing gratitude for the Church’s ongoing partnership. “Last year, you presented many items to the headquarters. Like Oliver Twist, we ask that you continue to support us. These items will significantly enhance our performance. We extend our appreciation to the entire Church and pray for blessings upon you,” he said.
The event was attended by representatives from both the Church and the police administration. Notable attendees included Bishop Ofori of the Abura 3rd Ward, Brother Amoah, Clerk to the Mission President, Brother Apau, Assistant Communication Director for the Abura Stake, President Laing, and Akua Aboagyewaah Asante-Asare, Communication Director for the Cape Coast Coordinating Council. Police representatives included Chief Inspector Nsor, Inspector Bentum, Derrick Asamoah, Gifty Domedzi, an investigator, and Angela Dzakpa, District Secretary.
