Uganda Stakes and Districts Light the World with Service Across the Country

Stakes and Districts of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Uganda brought Light to many through service and vital donations.

Congregations of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints across Central Africa are letting their lights shine in many countries.  Across Uganda this light came in the form of impactful service.  On 13 and 14 December, 2023 in Busia, Uganda the Busia District of the Church and members of the Church provided service and resources to Busia Police Health Centre ii by cleaning the facility and grounds, establishing a temporary structure for immunization, relocating impounded vehicles from the compound in order to make room for the immunization structure, and provided a weighing scale for babies, clinical thermometers and a height board.

The health facility receives an overwhelming number of clients of between 60 to 80 per day. The facility conducts immunization activities with very limited facilities. The Church, in partnership with the local Community Based Organization and police, fabricated a structure for the mothers who bring their children for immunization.  The Church’s contribution enables the Health Centre to more effectively respond to the significant demand for health services.
