17 New Mission Leaders Announced for Africa

144 missions worldwide receive new mission leaders, 17 in Africa, 9 are new

The First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has called new mission presidents and companions for 144 missions worldwide. The new leadership couples will begin their three-year service in July.

Africa will have 17 new mission presidents and companions. Their names and assignments are listed below. Of the 17 in Africa, 9 are new missions.  Links to the couples’ brief biographies and photos will be added as they are published in the Church News in the coming months.

36 new missions were announced in November 2023 for July 2024, the Church will have the most missions in its history— 450 missions worldwide. The purpose of missions is to invite all to come unto Jesus Christ.
