On October 28, 2024, Elder Dale G. Renlund of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was received by Her Excellency Mrs. Judith Suminwa Tuluka, prime minister of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Elder Renlund congratulated the prime minister on her elevation and wished her every success in her duties. They discussed opportunities of collaboration with the government in various areas, including health, education, access to drinking water and humanitarian emergencies.
The meeting was also an opportunity for Her Excellency to express her appreciation for the presence of the Church in the DRC. She emphasized that even though the DRC is a secular country, the current president of the republic solemnly placed the Democratic Republic of the Congo in the hands of God. The Church has a great role to play in the guidance of families and youth who represent more than 60% of the population. After a moment of warm exchange, Elder Renlund reassured Her Excellency that the Church will always provide its support to bless the development of the DR Congo.
