On Saturday July 29, 2023 members of the Lupundu Ward of the Kolwezi Stake of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Democratic Republic of the Congo, rolled up their sleeves to provide community service. Members both young and old cleared out rain gutters, picked up trash, and tidied the grounds of a maternity hospital.
Their efforts did not go unnoticed or unappreciated. A community leader and local merchants thanked Church leaders for their voluntary and much-needed service. In addition, several observers expressed an interest in learning more about the Church and were given literature about the restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ through the Prophet Joseph Smith.
Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints strive to follow the Church’s teachings to be good citizens of their countries and to demonstrate Christian love for their fellow man. The Church supports humanitarian projects around the world without regard to race, religion, or nationality.
