During her visit, Minister Nyanti toured Welfare Square, a complex in Salt Lake City that provides material assistance to individuals and families in need. During this tour, she was deeply moved by a video showcasing the Church’s welfare initiatives. With over 20 years of experience in senior roles at the United Nations, she was shocked to learn about the Church’s significant contributions to global humanitarian programs she had helped initiate and expand. Minister Nyanti had no idea the Church was a major donor in these programs, which filled her with gratitude and appreciation. She shared how Liberia’s food production is not sufficient for their needs, but the Church farm-to-can-to-table examples she saw made her feel confident/hopeful that the Church, and other faiths, can help make this happen.

Minister Nyanti’s was also able to witness the Church’s impactful programs, such as refugee support and BYU-Pathway. She emphasized the importance of churches being active in everyday life and appreciated the Church’s focus on self-reliance and practical solutions to global challenges.

At the FamilySearch Library, she was touched by the information and photographs the team uncovered about her family. It was a positive and emotional experience for her, and she noticed the care people exhibited towards her.
