The Yaounde Mission in Cameroon received a significant blessing on February 15, 2025. The mission was honored with a visit from Sisters Amy A. Wright, the First Counselor in the Primary General Presidency, and Kristin Mae Yee, Second Counselor in the Relief Society General Presidency. They were warmly received by traditional Cameroonian dancers, and welcome remarks by Essomba, a young boy from the Nkomo Branch primary. The sisters were accompanied by Elder Giraud-Carrier, Second Counselor in the Africa Central Area Presidency, his wife Sister Isabelle Sophie Mauclair, and President and Sister Kannar, the Cameroon Yaoundé Mission Leaders.

Sister Wright began her visit with a children's devotional, where she invited the children to conduct the meeting, pray, lead the music, play the piano, help teach, and testify. She interacted with the children using games, music, images, sign language, actions, a special message to the children from President Nelson, and through the scriptures. She taught about the blessings of making and keeping sacred covenants and the children's responsibility to participate as members of Jesus Christ's church. The children drew pictures of what they can do to follow Jesus. Sister Wright said, "I want the children to know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is their church and they have an important role to play in preparing for Jesus Christ's return."
Sister Yee began her visit with ministering to a few relief society sisters before proceeding to the Leadership Instruction Meeting. There, she stressed the importance of ministering visits by the sisters and the role they play alongside priesthood holders. She urged everyone to always keep in mind the Savior's Mission, which was essentially based on service. "There is no greater calling than to serve one's neighbour," she said. She emphasized that callings should not be seen as achievements; the most important thing is to be of help to Christ’s work, and to one's neighbour wherever one is.
Sister Kristin Mae Yee added, "Sometimes what we need is not what we are thinking. And the same goes with our callings. We listen to the Voice of the Holy Ghost. Some days he may guide us to be focused on our families, and other days he may guide you to go to a meeting you were not expecting or to minister in a way you were not expecting. Like Nephi, listen to the guidance of the Holy Ghost, and he can help us prioritize our days to have peace, to have joy, and to have meaning."
The following day, Sister Yee met with the Young Single Adults in an afternoon devotional together with Elder Giraud-Carrier. She invited them to strengthen and deepen their relationship with Heavenly Father because they will find strength and confidence in Him. She reminded them to also make studying the words of the prophet part of their daily scriptural habits. Elder Giraud Carrier closed by reminding the Young Single Adults that they are children of God, and they are winners. He said, "Heavenly Father knows us and His only desire is that we can grow and develop ourselves."
As a member of the missionary executive council, Sister Wright met with some of the missionaries from the Cameroon Yaounde Mission where she taught them from Preach My Gospel and the scriptures about becoming a successful missionary. She testified, "During your time of missionary service, it is our hope and prayer that you have continual experiences with the Savior that are so deeply profound and personal you are forever changed. You are not meant to return home to your old ways, your old habits, your old lives. You are meant to go home a higher and holier way. The key indicator of your success as a missionary is how you live your life after your mission. We want you to be valiant in your testimony of Jesus Christ all the days of your life! We want you to establish a foundational pattern of lifelong discipleship and look back on your missionary service as a time of immense joy. A time when you came to know your Savior, Jesus Christ."
After their visit in Cameroon, they will continue with their tour in the Africa Central Area in Addis Ababa Ethiopia, Nairobi Kenya and conclude their visit in Dar Es Salaam Tanzania.
