Caring for People in Africa 

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints continues to bring relief and joy in 38 countries in 2024

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints strives to care for God’s children in a variety of ways in almost every corner of the world, regardless of religion, race, gender or political affiliation. Caring for others is considered one of the key responsibilities of all Church members.

The 2024 significant contribution were made to self-reliance, humanitarian aid, emergency relief, and volunteer service, with expenditures totaling US$1.45 billion. The Church provided assistance in 192 countries and territories. This included 3,836 humanitarian projects. Church members volunteered 6.6 million hours of service at Church Welfare and Self-reliance facilities, in service missions, and in community service projects, demonstrating their dedication to caring for God’s children.

In Africa there were 556 projects in 38 countries.  The focus was on Education, Food Security, Health, Water and Emergency Response amongst others.  Here below some examples:
