Called into the presidency of the newly formed Guinea Conakry District were Mohamed Doré as president and N’zimuy Osase Jacques as first counselor, with Daniel Loua serving as the district clerk. The new district comprises three branches: the Conaky 1st and 2nd Branches and the Coyah Branch. In addition to the formation of the new district, the Coyah branch leadership was reorganized, with Yves-Alain Eyidi Bwanga called as the new Branch President, and Dotsè Sodégadji as his first counselor.

The conference was preceded on Friday evening by a youth fireside where nearly 40 youth, friends, leaders, and full-time missionaries attended.  During the fireside, President Bebe introduced the Church’s Succeed in School program which was well received by the participants. Saturday, pre-conference activities included a leadership training meeting for the new district presidency where, during that training, President Zadi, along with President Bebe Diornite Joseph Poda, First Counselor in the Yamoussoukro Mission, took turns teaching and reminding the newly called leaders of their roles in strengthening the members of their district. Finally, on Saturday evening, adult members from the three branches assembled for an adult session of the conference.

The Sunday meeting, where the district was formally organized, included testimonies from the new district leaders as well as from the mission presidency and other ward leaders.  As part of the formation of the new district, two new full-time missionaries were called as the first to be sent out from the new district.  Elder Néma Blo Goumou will serve in Nigeria, and elder Mamady Joseph Condé will serve in Kenya.

The formation of the new district is a testament to the growth of the Church in Guinea, where only about eight percent of the country’s population identifies as Christian.
