Kossoh Town Stake Formed in Sierra Leone

A new stake was formed in Kossoh Town, Sierra Leone on 5 December 2021. The growth of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the area has been gradual but sustained. The new Stake Presidency is President Abibu Saidu Charles, First Counselor Alie Kargbo and Second Counselor Simeon Pessima. The presiding authority was Elder Larry S. Kacher, First Counselor in the Africa West Area Presidency. Also assisting was Elder Samuel Annan-Simons, an Area Seventy.

The new stake was created from the Kossoh Town District. “What we all fought for together, come Ebola, come Corona, we stood our faith, today we are a Stake.” Brother Bai Sesay, former District President for Kossoh Town District.

Elder Kacher stated “God has blessed Kossoh Town to become a Stake. The strength of the Stake lies in the testimony of the members ….to have faith in every footstep.”

A few days later, the Church announced the Groundbreaking for the first temple in Sierra Leone is to be built  in Kossoh Town.
