Owerri, Nigeria Receives 15 Additional Missionaries

How Firm a Foundation

It was a blessed day for 15 new full-time missionaries of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The missionaries completed their Accra Ghana MTC training and were headed to Nigeria Owerri Mission to begin sharing the gospel.

Elder Larry and Sister Pauline Kacher, Africa West Area 1st Counselor, were thankful that they were on the airport shuttle bus with the missionaries. Sister Kacher said that while visiting with other shuttle passengers she heard singing, "first one voice, then several voices, then all 15 missionaries were singing, 'How Firm a Foundation' and sharing their joy through song."

Sister Kacher shared, "It was so beautiful and heartfelt." Elder and Sister Kacher told the missionaries, "We pray for you to keep that enthusiasm and that it will grow and mature into a deep and abiding dedication to the Savior as you serve Him."

President and Sister Ntiedo Silas, Nigeria Owerri Mission, received these 15 new missionaries who are ready to bless others’ lives by inviting all to come unto Christ.
